The Mer de Glace, originates at an elevation of 3,900 m, and descends down to 1,400 m.in the Chamonix Valley, it is the largest glacier in France, 7kms long and 200m deep. We got there at 14:00 after a paying a fee of 106 euro, we were keen on having lunch. To our nasty surprise, le Resto was closed between 14.00 - 18.00, and they call this tourism, those bloody French!!!
