Is your Bed Pointed the Right Way For Love?

feng shui
Originally uploaded by Wandermo.
The direction your bed is pointed affects your love life. According to the ancient Chinese practice of feng shui, we all have four positive sleeping directions and four negative directions based on our year of birth and gender.

You are an EAST GROUP person if your best directions are N, S, E and SE. You are a WEST GROUP person if your best directions are W, NW, SW and NE. Couples with the same best sleeping directions are more compatible because they can both sleep in a positive direction together.

Couples with opposite best directions will have challenges resulting from one partner sleeping in a negative direction. To lessen those challenges, the partner with the most financial impact on the household should sleep in one of their positive directions, which is their partner's least worst direction.

Geez, my love life has never suffered in the last 23 years of our marriage, I must have been Feng Shuing in the right direction I guess. I picked up this article on Feng Shui Times

The Misery of “Fixation”

“Fixation” is an irregular mental state, where the mind concentrates on a single subject, disregarding others, had they been connected to the subject or otherwise. In case one has to deal with any, it would be from a single angle and pursues a single subject. Fixation could be in the form of Financial, Material, Political, Nationalism, Sexual, Work, Religious, Surfing, Blogging and in some extreme cases Corporate fixation. We tend to loose track of whom we are and where we come from and what is our ultimate purpose in life and where we will be 10 years from today. I just wanted to raise this critical point and give you a piece of advice, don't get fixated on things that will allienate you from real life surroundings and in the process costing you frienship and ultimately your real purpose of beeing.

Requiem for a Dream

Requiem for a Dream

At times you might stumble on a website where the concept remains engraved in your memory. 5 years ago I was browsing the web and fell on a movie site that captured my imagination and intrigued me. I never got to see the movie, yesterday I dreamt about it, but the title kept slipping. I got a total recall this afternoon, imagine forgetting "for a dream" and remembering Requiem "funeral hymn". Got the website link, still intriguing not very impressive by today design standards, however the movie has a rating of 8.5/10 on IMDB. Good news I found it on Amazon.com too. Has any Blogger seen it? Link

While in Toulouse, I passed by this statue, we always try to guess what went into the mind of the artist, such as why is the lady staring ghastly at the woman, what was the artist trying to portray.

Well the result someone revealed the mistery, by placing a bin on her head now I know why she is disturbed.

OK nothing to do with Amytiville horror, although the shot is inspiring for a horror movie poster. Dijon the city known for its mustard has a rich history.
Dijon began as a Roman settlement called Castrum Divionense, located on the road from Lyon to Mainz. The city is also well known for its crème de cassis, or blackcurrant liqueur, used in the drink known as "Kir".
Dijon is one of the best-preserved cities in France: 60% of the buildings are over 200 years old, the Gothic cathedral's crypt dates from 1000 years ago, and the city centre has many fine houses dating from the 15th through 17th centuries.
BTW Dijon is also birthplace of Gustave Eiffel the dude who designed the Eiffel Tower for the Paris Exhibition of 1889.

Salhiya Bomb Threat

Now if you think Kuwait lacks excitement in Summer, think again, today at 13:00, around 6 police officers from the Ministry of Interior, showed up into our offices in Al-Sahab Tower and ordered us to vacate the premises, once outside we were surrounded by 7 police cars, yellow tape around the building, bomb squad, sniffer dogs you name it. And I thought this would be a calm summer, no place is safe anymore on earth, from your favorite vacation spot to your daily work desk. I hope this is an isolated case. Update 16:26 it was a false alarm as expected, good thing too... Link

Hitler vs The Ring

Originally uploaded by Wandermo.
While visiting Besancon, I went to the Resistance Museum, although the entrance sign says children under 10 years old will be traumatised by the displayed fotos, Tayma my 6 year old still believes that The Ring is a much scarier experience tahn the 3rd Reich and that Adolf is a lamb compared to the girl coming out of the well!!! I tend to agree Hitler is a Woos 15 armed people to execute a poor soul, a moving picture nevertheless, you got to admire the guts of the victim, facing death with a smile.

Dubbed by my daughter after arriving there at 7:30 PM on the 7th of July. The fun part was that we took the metro from Opera to the Place des Invalides, once we went up the steps, the tower prevails its monumental self, breathtaking, I hear a WOW from Rawan my youngest twin, I told her amazing right and she answered yeap naked people! Huh where? look at the statues she said they are all naked :) Kids they notice things we adult never do. So going back to the Evil Tower it was 8 degrees in July at the top, and Rawan as usual commented that how can someone built something that make people freeze hence Mr.Evil was born...

Vacation Trip Log - Short version

OK I am open for business again, with some useful tips about traveling all over France and covering 3450 km in the process, with 2 kids in the back seat over a period of 17 days. I will skip the part about Beirut, although I had and I hate to say it, a great trip great trip to Baalbeck with Fadibou, probably its the Arak that went to my head.

We left Beirut to Geneva one night stay, got the car and headed to Eurodisney 500KM, 3 nights and 4 days in Disney, great to experience through our children. Off to Paris, quick mention here, never book a hotel online we spent 3 hours finding the darn thing. One night in Paris quick trip to Eiffel dubbed Evil by Rawan, my yougest twin. Next stop Tours a night in a castle, off to Limoges boring continued to Toulouse, lovely city, down to Narbonne ugly traffic jams on motorway and nationals, biggest mistake to head south in July as everyone else is, Narbonne was a boring destination proceeded to Sete, lovely beaches, at last the kids are gonna have a blast, however someone forgot to tell me that the Mediterrenean is 18 degrees on this side, damn that was a freezing experience. By Now traffic was getting irretating, cancelled booking in Nice, swerved over to Avignon, not a single square meter to park or sleep, pushed north towards Lyon lunch then Valence spent the night and continued to Besancon further to Pont Arlier. Next stop was Neuchatel then Lausanne, Montreux then Evian. Next we continued to Annecy and back to Geneva. Overall great trip 3450 KM covered, i skipped castle visits, boat trips, hiking, bird feeding and over 850 pictures snapped along the way some good some bad some ugly enough to keep my blog alive for some times :) Cheers
